Kansas finally has begun to tap its windy prairies, ranking as the third biggest builder of wind generation, behind only Texas and California, The Kansas City Star reports.
Kansas more than doubled its production capacity last year, vaulting it from No. 14 to No. 9 in its capacity to generate electricity from wind, the report says, citing a study by the American Wind Energy Association.
