Crews called to house fire near 71 Hwy

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Crews were called to a house fire near US 71 Highway in Kansas City, Mo., early Monday. The fire was reported a little before 5:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of E. 54th Street, just east of the highway. The first firefighters on scene reported heavy smoke and flames showing from the home.
